Value

We value things in our life usually based on the efforts to get them. When something is easily available, we kind of undervalue that thing or sometimes even that relationship. Please note here we are talking about things we are pursuing and not things which we are forced to get. So we can generalize this thought by saying ‘more the efforts more the value’.

We always seek for happiness. Many-a-times ‘the valuable thing’ give us happiness. But what has happened in last decade is, especially with generation Nxt i.e. my generation, we get almost everything easily. Take example of food, the Diwali special chakali, chivada which used to give heavenly pleasure to my parents on Diwali morning, is very common for me. We buy clothes on so many occasions that Diwali shopping is less exiting (except for a type of human being which is called as shopalcoholic). Another best example given by my mom, now days after marriage, girls talk to their mothers on a daily basis. So the divine happiness of a married daughter in meeting her mother is lost.

We have key to happiness in our life, may however small happiness that gives! I might sound crazy while saying this, but don’t make everything in your life common. Value the timing. Don’t make this as a status issue. You might show off by having anything anytime, but that will reduce ‘the happiness moments’ in your own life. Don't let need turn into greed.
May be that's another way of  stating importance of simplicity.

But one thing is for sure, this simple way of living or limiting the need as well greed, will definitely give us a long lasting happiness.

Just give this whole thing a ‘valuable’ thought.

[P.S. - If we apply same logic to life, i.e. when everything in life is just effortless, will the value of life diminish?]

  1. ah...agree wholeheartedly...the feel of getting good marks because of your efforts is so sweet :) you feel the scent of success without even knowing your scores..so maybe that is the reason..i have to do something or score good to get a costly thing from parents..eg mobile

  2. I wanna say that u should think wisely and make your lifestyle simple enough to have happiness from small small things. In that way u need 'value' things.
